All-In-One Solution

Internet Service Management Device (ISMD) is the industry's first "All-in-One" solution that supports multi-homing load balancing, application-level traffic shaping (QoS), real-time traffic monitor, historic traffic statistics reporting, worm attack detection/deterrence and firewall filtering. With this all-in-one design, ISMD is the best price/performance traffic manager in the market.

ISMD

Easy to Deploy und Operate

ISMD deployment requieres no network changes or additional database managers, and works across heterogeneous network links in a "plug-and-forget" and "plug and serve" fashino. When multiple ISMDs are deplozed, the network manager can configure them in one shot via a centralized commando console without repeating the tedious and error-prone configuration task multiple times.

ISMD

Flexible Connectivity

ISMD works seamlessly in heterogeneous network environments with a wide variety of wired (xDSL, Cable and leased lines) and/or wireless (wireless LAN and cellular radio links) access links.

ISMD

Scalabiliy

ISMD can manage traffic on access links whose speed is up to 1 Gbps and up to 1,000,000 network connections. It can also balance the loads on up to 15 WAN links for both in-bound and out-bound traffic.

Security

ISMD supports a stateful firewall that can filter traffic from up to 1,000,000 connections. ISMD also provides a unique worm attack detection/deterrence mechanism, which prevents a worm attack from bringing down the protected network.

ROI in One Year

With all-in-one design, ISMD eliminates the need to purchase additional real-time network traffic monitor, DNS server, DHCP server or firewall. In addition, ISMD can improve an enterprise's WAN link utilization efficiency by prioritizing revenue-generating traffic, blocking bandwidth-hogging applications and preventing network service disruption due to worm attacks.

Multi-Homing Load Balancing

Traffic load balancing among multiple WAN links for both internally initiated and externally initiated traffic
Robust and responsive link failure detection and transparent fail-over

Application-Level QoS Guarantee

  • Application-level traffic recognition, including VoIP and popular P2P traffic
  • Comprehensive traffic classification rule specification: host name, subnet, source or destination IP address, source or destination port, and application type
  • Time-based admission control up to 5 years
  • URL-based per-user traffic shaping
  • Per-host quota control
  • Minimum guaranteed bandwidth and maximum allowed bandwidth
  • Hierarchical reservations

Reliability

  • Fully redundant design featuring fast failure recovery (within 60msec)
  • Power/hardware/software failure by-passing network interface and diskless design improves system availability

Scalability

  • Link speed up to 1000 Mbps
  • Up to 8,000 traffic classification rules and 200,000 bandwidth reservation settings
  • Up to 1,000,000 connections
  • Up to 15 WAN links

Centralized Management

  • Embedded database manager for historical traffic usage statistics archiving and querying
  • Web-based and Java-based remote network management interface
  • Centralized control console that can oversee multiple ISMDs over arbitrary IP networks, and support remote backup and restore of ISMD configurations

Security

  • Stateful firewall that supports up to 1,000,000 connections
  • Unique worm detection/deterrence mechanism based on per-host connection count monitoring
  • IP/MAC address binding and locking

Real-Time Traffic Monitoring and Usage Reporting

  • Real-time per-reservation traffic usage display on a second-by- second basis
  • Connection-based traffic report organized according protocol, traffic volume, port number and host IP address
  • Real-time visualization of per-WAN link utilization and liveness log
  • Aggregate traffic usage report in terms of top users, top applications and top user applications in terms of usage
  • SNMP MIB support

Enterprise

  • ISMD can seamlessly aggregate multiple low-cost access links (such as ADSL/Cable TV links) into a high-throughput and highly reliable access link with similar quality to leased lines.
  • With multi-homing load balancing, complete network service disruption is impossible as long as one link is up.
  • Mission critical applications such as VOIP, video conferencing and e-commerce traffic will never be affected by other unimportant applications such as FTP downloading and P2P applications.
  • Anti-worm features can quickly detect compromised hosts when they attack external hosts.

Campus/University

  • Prioritize distance-learning traffic.
  • Block bandwidth-hogging P2P traffic.
  • Prevent unauthorized servers through per-host quota enforcement.

Web-hosting/Co-location / ISP/Carrier

  • Offer innovative Internet services that are tailored to the specific needs of individual customers.
  • Balance traffic among peering links to maximize their utilization efficiency.

Cyber Cafes/Multi-Tenant Units

  • Reduce recurring network charges by replacing expensive T1 lines with multiple ADSL/Cable lines.
  • Allocate available wireless/wired link bandwidth fairly among sharing hosts.
  • Support VoIP over WLAN service.
